Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers to common questions about working with Evolv-To.
Working Together
Who you work with and how.
01 Who will I actually be working with?
The founder. No juniors, no hand-off, no bait-and-switch. The person you talk to in the discovery call is the person doing the work. This is intentional and non-negotiable.
02 How do engagements typically start?
With a 30-minute discovery call. No charge, no obligation. We learn what you need, you learn how we work, and we both decide if there's a fit. If there is, we scope the project with clear deliverables and acceptance criteria before any work begins.
03 Do you work remotely?
Primarily yes. Most engagements are handled entirely remotely via video calls, async communication, and shared documentation. On-site availability is possible for workshops and specific project needs — travel costs are passed through at cost.
04 What if I don't know exactly what I need?
That's what the discovery call is for. Come with your problem, not a solution. "Our month-end reports take two days and are full of errors" is a better starting point than "we need an AI dashboard." We'll help define the right solution once we understand the real problem.
Pricing & Investment
The honest answers on cost.
05 Your rates seem high. Why not use a cheaper firm?
Cheaper firms staff projects with junior consultants. You pay project management overhead for work done by someone with two years of experience. At Evolv-To, you pay for one senior person who has seen this problem before and knows where the mistakes are.
The total cost of getting it right the first time is almost always lower than fixing a junior team's work.
06 Do you offer fixed-price projects?
Yes, for well-defined scope. Hourly billing works for advisory, discovery, and open-ended engagements. Fixed-price works for projects with clear deliverables and acceptance criteria. We'll recommend the right model for your situation after the discovery call.
07 Can we start small and expand?
Absolutely. A Technical Assessment or a focused discovery engagement is a low-commitment way to establish a working relationship and validate approach before committing to a larger project. Many long-term clients started with a small scoped assessment.
08 What if my budget doesn't match your rates?
Tell us your budget in the discovery call. We'd rather scope to your budget honestly than propose something you can't afford. Sometimes a reduced-scope engagement delivers 80% of the value at 40% of the cost. Sometimes the right answer is to wait until you have the budget. We'll tell you which.

Projects & Timeline
What to expect during an engagement.
09 Can you do the project faster?
Sometimes. We can re-sequence deliverables to hit a critical date, reduce scope, or apply additional hours for a premium. What we won't do is promise a timeline we cannot keep. If the timeline is genuinely unrealistic, we'll say so before we start — not after we miss it.
10 Do you provide support after the project?
Yes. Every engagement includes a 30-day post-launch support window. Ongoing support, hosting, maintenance, and managed services are available as separate arrangements. You will never be handed a system with no one to call.
11 What industries do you serve?
Professional services, manufacturing, healthcare, education, nonprofit, and early-stage startups. The common thread is a specific operational problem with a measurable cost. Industry knowledge helps; understanding the technology deeply matters more.
12 We are talking to other consultants. Why choose Evolv-To?
Ask the other consultants who will actually do the work. If the answer is a team managed by a senior, you are comparing different things. Evolv-To is one senior engineer with 30 years of pattern recognition, direct access, no layers, and honest assessment. If AI is not the right solution for your problem, we will tell you that — before you spend money.
"I'd rather turn down work than deliver something that fails."
Still have questions?
The best way to get answers is a 30-minute call. No pitch, no obligation.
